Where Did Our Reunion Shawls Come From?

The Quispe Acuna sisters, Ilda, Maria and Carolina, live in the small village of Yauli in the central highlands of Peru. They care for their family, work the land and tend their animals; the remaining time is dedicated to creating their weavings for the Peruvian women's cooperative. The purchase of shawls for our reunion was arranged by Whitney Kemble Robbins. We will have lovely vibrant shawls to wear as part of our reunion celebration, and we will be helping women in another part of the world.

Here is the finished product that our class will wear at appropriate times during the 50th reunion festivities!
